As most of you know, last year we sponsored a child through the
Children of Chernobyl Project. This project brings children from
Belarus, russian speaking children, to the US for 6 weeks in the
summer to live with host families. She lived with us all summer last
year. The project is mostly to provide much needed dental care and to
give the children a break from the ravages of radiation cause by the
Chernobyl incident 20 years ago and the poor and destitude living
conditions that are everywhere in the country.
For more information on the project and the church that we go through
please check this website.

This year we would like to bring our little Sveta back again. We have
kept in touch with her all year long and she misses us and we miss
her. It is hard for her family to provide her with opportunities and
they are very excited about sending her back to us. The project
requires that we pay to bring her back so that the COC project can use
their money to bring a new child over. They want to get as many over
here as possible. For us this will be between 1000-1200 dollars. We
are giving you, our friends and family, a chance to be a part of this
wonderful project by sending donations to help bring Sveta back to us.
Please check this website out and watch the video essay on Chernobyl
and Belarus. This is a worthwhile cause and we will send receipts out
to all who donate as it is tax deductible. Any money made over the
1000 dollars will be used to buy her clothing and things she needs
while she is here, and the rest will be sent back to her family. If
you don't feel that you can help us out with money your prayers for
Sveta and her family would be much appreciated and for her safe travel
to the United States in June.

A little about Sveta's family...her father is a wood feller, her
mother is a milk gatherer. She has two older brothers one who goes to
college and one who is a mechanic. Her mother is a wonderful lady who
we have spoken to quite a few times. Sveta is ten. She will be 11
in March. She is a wonderful little girl who is so much fun to have
around.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your help either by
prayers or by donations.

What a great idea! I'll definitely help out, but can you check the link for chipin? It didn't work for me. Thanks!
